Food As Medicine
Join senior teacher and lecturer Lars Skalman as he takes you on a food journey through the 5 flavours, the effect they have on the body and mind and how to work with them in combination for ultimate health and wellness. Go onto discover the basics of facial diagnosis as we begin to learn how to put our food knowledge to therapeutic use. Face to face lecture time is theory, the course also includes some practical elements done in your own kitchen.This course is taught as part of the current Yoga Teacher training program, one of the few subjects to be open to students who are not participating in the full course. Completion of the course in 2016 will qualify you for exemption for those students interested in Yoga Teacher Training 2017.
Hope you can join us. There is no asana practice in this course. Please feel free to attend even if you've never done a yoga class before.

5 Element Theory
|An introduction to the 5 Element system including the 12 meridians and their organ
associations. Exploring the use of the Taoist 5 Element Theory in its physical, emotional and spiritual constructs as a guide to class theming and conceptual teaching.
- 5 Element Theory in Hatha Yoga
Blah Learn the fundamentals of Chinese medicine and the meridians and how to apply that knowledge to corrective yoga.
|An introduction to the broad topic of yoga psychology that aims to enrich a students understanding of the perspective of maintaining and developing good mental health thru yoga practice.|
The study of the subtle body, the subtle energy systems from an Indian perspective. The course includes the examination of the subtle bodies and the and the channels of Prana.
- Energetic effect of yoga on the body and nervous system
- Chakras (energy centres) and nadis (energy pathways)
- Koshas (layers of the energy body)
Introduction to Ayurveda
|A study of the 5 great element theory, the 3 Ayurvedic constitutions and their application to the digestive system, central to this medicine.|
