Connie Robinson is an Integral Yoga and Meditation teacher with a practice that has been evolving for over 30 years, since her introduction to yoga by Brahma Kumari’ teachers in Mount Abu, India, aged10.
Connie has continuously practised and expanded her yoga since childhood, and has lived in the Middle East, India, Hong Kong and Australia, having moved here with her young family in 2011.
Connie’s formal training includes Teacher’s Trainings in May 2002 at the Integral Yoga Institute in
Virginia , USA. Subsequent courses there included Pre-Natal and Post natal and Meditation. Connie has taught private classes in Hong Kong, and continued to study the principles of Scaravelli Yoga with Wanda Hewitt.
Wanda introduced her to a new form of consciousness in the study of yoga and body -mind connection. This is visible in Connie’s classes, when she invites you to experience the subtle quality of movement and breath, Her classes are not about making people conform to the pose or imposing a philosophy, instead it’s about awakening the body’s intelligence and the souls wisdom.
Since moving to Australia Connie has completed her Australian Yoga Teachers training at a Fine Balance now Yoga & Health Collective, with Yolande Hyde where she has been made to feel welcome and loved by her teachers and students alike.
In between supporting her young family, Connie has been teaching frequently at Mona Vale, Bayview, Avalon and Bilgola. Her current areas of study include Therapeutic Yoga for people with, or recovering from cancer, under the guidance of Annette Loudon, as well as yoga and meditation for anxiety and depression.
Connie’s commitment is to inspire others to realise their own ‘Shakti’. Her soft presence, enthusiasm, knowledge and sensitivity leads you through a yoga practice that is compassionate and healing.
It is not uncommon for her students in these classes to arrive highly stressed, only to be found asleep in Yoga Nidra, which Connie considers a “quiet compliment!”.
